Home / SOS app

Help in one tap. Even when you can't talk.

The Malabar Patrols SOS app sends your exact location to the patrol and calls the nearest responder on duty. Free for every Malabar resident.

Life in danger? Use the app and call SAPS on 10111 or 112 from a cellphone. Malabar Patrols are volunteers: we respond fast, but we are not the police or an ambulance.

Tap or hold: you choose

Tap SOS: the alert goes at once

Your name, address and GPS location go to the Malabar Patrols WhatsApp group and the nearest responder on duty is called. Nothing to type, nothing to wait for.

Hold SOS: add your voice

Keep your finger on the button. A ring goes around it for 2 seconds, then it records. Say what is happening; let go to send. The voice note goes to the patrol group and to the responders as a WhatsApp voice note.

Say what it is

Pick a tab: crime in progress, break-in, medical, fire, domestic violence, suspicious vehicle (add the registration) or person, accident. Responders see it straight away.

See who is coming

The responder's name, vehicle, distance and live position on the map, with a call button and chat. Cancel if it was a mistake.
